The Rosie Girl bandana is a representation and celebration of the beautiful life Miss Rosalina has lived with her family. On June 21st, 2021 Rosie’s family got the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with Feline Cancer. Sadly, her family is not alone as roughly 6 million cats a year will be diagnosed with cancer in the United States alone. Feline Cancer, like cancer in many humans, attacks the organs and cells. It is often rapid pace in its growth as it spreads in cells, develops in tissue, and forms tumors through the body. It can occur in any part of the cat’s system and can be very hidden or very identifiable. The four main types of feline cancer include, Lymphoma, Skin tumors, Mammary Gland Tumors, and Abdominal Tumors. Unfortunately, around 32% of Cats will lose their lives to one or more of these cancers.
Even though cancer is the leading cause in death for cats, like many animal cancers, its under researched and funded. However, in recent years a few great organizations and research centers have taken on the task of tackling the aggressive feline cancer. They are looking to expand the horizons on early diagnosis, treatment, and overall prevention. With the advancing research, families hearing the devastating news that their beloved pet has cancer will hopefully decrease.
This bandana will represent the lasting memory that Rosie Girl has and her importance to her family. Although her time left before the Rainbow Bridge isn’t known at this time she will always be cherished for the amazing 10 years she has lived. Her family specifically picked these fabrics keeping her in mind.
The soft pink elegant roses is representation of her name and personality of being beautiful and the sassy girl she is. The dark green is the representation of the research that is being done in order to further treatment in Feline Cancer and bring awareness to the cause. Lastly, Rosie’s family selected the green fabric with the gold dots because Gold is a very regal color and Rosie is a very regal cat. They would like to thank you in helping to celebrated their Rosie Girl’s life by wearing this bandana and helping further research in Feline/Animal Cancer.
50% of the profits from this bandana will be donating to is the Morris Animal Foundation. Since 1962, they have been funding cancer research to help all types of animals live a long and healthy life. They also were among the first to recognize and invest in better pain management for cats. With our donations, they will be able to help find a cure for Rosie and so many other animals who have been diagnosed with cancer.
